Must have beauty products for extreme adrenal fatigue

Hi ladies,

You may have heard of chronic fatigue, maybe even adrenal fatigue. Adrenal fatigue is the new chronic fatigue. Everyone seems to catch up with the importance of adrenal hormones for their well-being.

Adrenal fatigue and chronic fatigue can affect your beauty. I have experienced this. This is mostly due to the viscious circle of health problems that cause adrenal fatigue. Think digestive issues, mineral insufficiencies, yawning, vomiting, stress, low progesteron, low testosteron, sweating, convulsion, too much sleep.

I will not get into detail on how to fix these problems. There are many types of hormonal illnesses and each one requires intense examination by an endocrinologist. I as a patient have also made a "starter pack" post on how to heal adrenal fatigue with medication, supplements and lifestyle changes.

An endocrinologist though, won't help you with one aspect that is overlooked: your appearance.

Ever since I've had adrenal crises, I haven't looked the same. It has become better since my intense treatment though, so I have some tips to give.

1. Oily skin

Low cortisol causes oily skin, especially by night time, when a lack of touch ups reveals your skin's true state. I am not sure why this is, it is probably to due an effect of low cortisol on the sex hormones, the ones that make you produce more oil.

Blotting paper: I always have these around because I can't afford to powder so much oil. I blot before I powder to avoid a cakey mess. Blotting my face takes away a lot of my mental discomfort, and makes me feel less sick and disgusting.

Powder: a natural looking mattifying powder that dries and smoothes the face baby bottom soft is a must for me, just like blotting paper. I am neutral toned (I have both blue and green veins) so I avoid yellow and pink powders, that is all. I also avoid grainy powders and opt for something that claims to be creamy. With my adrenal issues, I have this fear of having more facial hair, so I don't want my face fluff to stand out from a powdery veil.

2. Yawning

Before my diagnosis, my yawning had become extreme. I was at a point where I would yawn once and it would take a full minute to be over. I was at the verge of vomiting and drooling, only to close my mouth to a drowsy grin again and open again for the next endless yawn. My mouth would stretch wide open but I wouldn't be able to catch oxygen, it seem. Apparantly I had very bad iron deficiency.

Yawning can make your mouth feel stretched and your lips thinner. The drowsiness also doesn't exactly make you feel pouty.

A solution for this is a hydrating, plumping lip balm such as this one with vanilla scent from Lierac, which also functions as a lipstick base. I tried it and it made my lips feel plumper and softer.

Also, wearing sheer and shimmery shades will work a lot better to make you look fresher. That is, apart from medication and supplements ;)

3. Iron deficiency anemia

Dark streaks, bruises, hypoventilation, cold body and pasty face. Ah iron deficiency anemia. Easily fixed with iron tablets, but what about the face?

Concealer is a must for the streaks under the eyes while the iron does its job. Set with a creamy powder.

For a pasty face, use a foundation that is one shades darker than your usual one and finish with a healthy looking blush. If you're not too oily, use a fine highlighter.

4. Tired eyes

Shiseido anti dark circle cream stimulates micro circulation to lighten the under eye area. An eye cream specificaly for fatigue would be the Lierac Diopti Fatigue gel eye cream. It is great!

A highlighting eyeshadow in the inner corners can make you instantly fresh.

A waterproof mascara is a must when you're oily and yawning.

A completely shimmery eyeshadow might look like a mess on a fatigued face. Use matte lilacs and taupes instead. Or if you really like it fresh, use shimmery silver on the eyelid and finish with a bold eyeliner.

5. Limp hair

Ladies, our hair is secretly the number one eye catcher. All Disney princesses have long, flowing hair and so do Victoria Secret and other models, queens, actresses. But thick luscious hair is a sign of well being, it shouldn't be a sign of wealth.

If your hair is limp due to a mineral insufficiency, you will need iron, copper, vitamin B. Iron needs to be perscribed, but you can also take Hair Volume once your digestion is better. I don't recommend taking all sorts of supplements since it can mess with your liver and kidneys, especially cheap multivitamins. But a little at the time with loads of good spring water shouldn't hurt.

For hair that is brittle I recommend straightening under 180 degrees celcius and avoiding curling it all together. It makes hair feels less "done" but if you take more time with less heat, it's like ironing silk: hair won't burn, and in the end, it will be smooth and soft. Hair will feel softer, cooler, smoother and untouched.

If your hair isn't smooth or has brittle ends, I have tried almost everything and what really works is mixing some coconut oil with almond or apricot seed oil and vitamine E, applied to the very ends, washed out, with full hair washed again, finishing with shampoo and conditioner. This ladies, transforms the hair instantly.
