This historian allows "One innovation I believe made a marked change upon our society I lay at the feet of one Willis Carrier of Syracuse. He invented the first commercial air conditioner. If The Obama is elected, we can blame Carrier."
Hmmmmmm
And all this time I wuz blaming Bush.
But in all seriousness, what innovation or event or invention changed the course of human events the most? Historians will argue..hell, that is what historians do best..argue and when I read some of the arguments it is damn obvious that most must have flunked Philosophy 101...you know, that course in critical thinking and logic?
Well, I can present a pretty good argument that the most important event in the history of mankind was when the first human learned to use fire. The use of fire separated man from the rest of the animals and it wasn't all that long before he was getting down out of them trees and building Jim Walters House and double wides..and setting them on fire..
