Comic Book Foldees

I couldn't find much info on the subject of Comic Book Foldees other than Topps produced them as gumpack novelties in the mid 1960's. I have a vague memory of having a few but that might just be some other product I'm thinking of.

Here are a few I found while netting. Looking on ebay, some of these sets go for big bucks!

From the package cover it looks like you could shuffle characters, fodl them to overlap portions of the booklet with amusing results. Superman in a dress...what is funnier than that?

However in making it possible to create a Vampire-Lincon, Grant-Pig and Washington-Dictator I'm prompted to wonder about the politics of the designers. After all, it was the 1960's...
